Sen. Cynthia Villar, chair of the Committee on Social Justice, Welfare and Rural Development, reiterated her call for the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to review the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program to be more effective in bringing down poverty incidence in the country. From the 2016 budget of P62.7 billion, the budget jumped to P78.5 billion for 2017 covering 4.5 million households. During the meeting, DSWD Sec. Judy Taguiwalo briefed Villar on the programs of the department.
